3:30 Scores and Goodbye!
Today the challenge was to build a robot that could navigate across a string above a trapped floor without setting off traps and then dropping pebbles, one by on (or two) into a vase until there were enough pebbles to depress the pressure plate and deactivate the traps making it safe to walk across the floor for all. The teams learned about switches.
None of us have ever made robots to go across a string before. The teams really rose to the challenge! The score layout for today;s challenge:
5 - For working robot
5 - Use switch in program
5 - For robot that moves across the string
10 - One point per item that ends up in jar
5 - For robot that returns on it's own
10 - Teamwork

The Red A+L These guys rocked it! With great team work and amazing focus these two just kept at it perfecting their robot. A straight forward design, counterbalanced. Great team work! 5 - For working robot 5 - Use switch in program 5 - For robot that moves across the string 10 - One point per item that ends up in jar 5 - For robot that returns on it's own 10 - Teamwork Total = 40 | Team 2 If there were points for team spirit this team would have crushed it. Great spirit and enthusiasm (especially int he start). Lots of great ideas. Although at times they kind of left their team mate hanging, they did open to all team members ideas and shared lots of information. Good robot deign that performed well in testing but when it came to 10 repetitions the robot just couldn't hold up. Great work keeping at it! 5 - For working robot 0 - Use switch in program 5 - For robot that moves across the string 5 - One point per item that ends up in jar 5 - For robot that returns on it's own 6 - Teamwork 3 - Bonus touch sensor quick activation Total = 28 | The Babooshkas Definitely a great designed, inspired by a gondola.
